Dog Licensing Information & Application

All dogs over seven (7) months old MUST BE LICENSED.  In order for a license to be issued, the State of New Jersey requires that the animal is vaccinated against rabies.  The rabies certificate must not expire prior to November 1st of the licensing year, if it does the animal will have to be re vaccinated.  Vaccinating early should not harm your animal however if your vet feels the animal should not be vaccinated early, have your vet write a note stating why the pet cannot be vaccinated and then a license can be issued.

Dog licenses may be obtained

  • Cats
    • At the present time, Cat Licensing is not a requirement in Hampton Township.  Stray cats are a major expense to the township and a nuisance to homeowners.  Please do not feed or pick up a stray cat unless you are willing to take ownership of the animal as your pet and your responsibility.  If you feed, maintain, or keep a cat, you are considered the owner, thus are responsible for such cat. If there is no food or water source available they will move on.  Cats alone can produce several litters in one year.  With that in mind, please be responsible and have your pet spayed and neutered.
